My commitment to physio and massage therapy has shaped many of my own personal life decisions as I recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not only to cope with the physical and mental demands of career but to be an example to the clients and patients under my care."

Iain

Master Massage Therapist and Diet Advisor

Iain founded Optihealth in 2010 with the desire to develop a team of caring, qualified professionals aiming to care for clients through life-changing therapies. Feedback from clients regularly reveals how much we improve their lives.

During a session with Iain, you can expect a journey of uncovering your issues, their cause, much-needed relief, with prescribed stretches and postural adjustments to take away with you enabling you to reach your physical best. Expect firm pressure (you control how much) and immediate improvement with each session. Clients appreciate discernment as to the required pressure needed to effect release and his deft touch in finding hidden issues. “I do miracles in a hour, the impossible takes just a little longer”.

Auckland-raised, he left school and farmed for twenty years, culminating with a herd of 750 cows at Reporoa. He later managed a real estate and property investment business for eighteen years. During this time he also spent six years in the NZ Army as a territorial soldier. On return to Auckland, he was introduced to and discovered his skill for massage so he started training in 1996. Standard massage techniques left him wanting more as they seldom produced lasting results so lots of courses and research later he has developed his unique style and is always learning.

He is also a CHIP Programme Director and go-to person in the clinic regarding diet and nutrition.

“The absolute highlight of my life is being entrusted with my six adult children. I love life, best with a good dose of humour, and have a passion for the outdoors and adventure.” An avid motorcyclist, he is President of the BMW Rider NZ Motorcycle club. A regular rider, his favourite trip is the annual pilgrimage to the Burt Munro celebrations in Invercargill.

Sue

Massage & Physiotherapist

Sue is a qualified physiotherapist and she brings a little extra depth of knowledge and flair to her treatments.

Prior to Optihealth she specialised in dealing with sports recovery and helping athletes develop optimal exercise programmes to strengthen their bodies to be resilient to injury and protect against overuse. While playing professional cricket she developed her interest in kinesiology (the study of the mechanics and anatomy of human muscles). She has also worked with a wider range of clients with office and lifestyle complaints and she is expert in prescribing custom programmes for them, using her sports knowledge to achieve lasting results.

"I love talking to people about what ails them, what has contributed to that and together devise a suitable programme of therapies, stretching and postural changes that as a whole will greatly improve their lives."
